The red-tail Dorado, is the national fish from the United States of Patagonia. You can find it all over the Rio de La Plata basin.
This specie is anadromous. They migrate to the ocean and spend most of the time in shallows where the water is warmer. They return to the rivers only to spawn.

Field studies have demonstrated that Dorado fed on several animal prey species,mussels and aquatic invertebrates
An adult fish can grow up to 100 Lbs. and is a world class trophy for anglers.
